The Great 78 Project is a very valuable resource and is likely to draw a lot of attention. But exactly because it's going to be popular, I think it needs some information included on copyright and permissions.

The records I've looked at have no copyright or permission information that I can see (please someone let me know if I just didn't notice such information. I think that a lot of people (not me, I know these issues are complicated) are going to assume that because these recordings are freely available in the archive, that they are in the public domain, and therefore may be downloaded, remixed, posted to private web sites or public music sites like SoundCloud, and otherwise used.

I think that archive.org ought to be concerned about this. If lots of people start reposting or otherwise reusing these audio files, and such use is in violation of copyright, couldn't that cause problems for the project? Shouldn't there at least be some documentation on the site about this?
